The author gives an overview of data science that distinguishes machine learning from data mining, artificial intelligence, etc. I found this useful. He gives specific examples of how machine learning is implemented in marketing and elsewhere. Different types of algorithms, some supported by humans and some not, do the machine learning or data mining or other data science. The author does not go into great depth on these algorithms, which is consistent with his goal of providing an overview for beginners.The book has some math. Once again, I think this is included to alert a beginner that understanding and working with math is mandatory to work in this field. The author lists job titles and salary ranges for jobs in the data science/machine learning fields.If you or someone you know think that data science may be a career in which you would be interested, I recommend the book.

I purchased two introductory e-books on Machine Learning. One cost me $20 and this one cost me $3. The $20 book had 399 pages but I got so completely lost before hitting page 100 that I gave up in defeat. (My iPad Kindle app doesn’t have page numbers, so I can’t tell you exactly what page I was on but it seemed like I had been reading forever).Then I found this $3 book – Machine Learning for Absolute Beginners – was not only short but it came out as the clear winner because I was able to get through right to the end of it with ease and without confusion. So turns out I got more than my money’s worth here with this book!And on top of that, this book was clear, well-written and a definite confidence builder. The knowledge I’ve gained from this book regarding ML models and basic algorithms gives me more confidence to go back to the other more expensive book for a second attempt.In summary, if this is your first foray into Machine Learning then this here is your book! I am a huge fan of all of Ms. Chamberlain's books. Though this book is short but it covers a lot of information. The author does a fabulous job of being direct, clear, and on point with her information and writing. The Craft is something that you can never learn in one book. Even though her books are centered around Wicca, the information is useful and insightful to all areas of The Craft and Witches. The book description is exactly what the book is. I myself have a library of several different topics. I started with this author and purchase every book as they come out. I suggest taking notes on things that peak your interest so that you can do further research. I loved this book.! This book was perfect for me as with me being Christian Wicca it had a lot of information from within that matched my personality as well as how I felt regarding the Elements around me and the life of this planet. I would definitely recommend this book to many people, either be Wicca people or not Wicca people as this opens the eyes and mind to what is all around us and if a person is interested and open to learn this then this is a book for them/you.

Easy to follow, this book is very informative, containing basic, simple spells that are very useful to beginners. This book also offers insightful, clear and concise information for readers who are initially curious, as well as more experienced practitioners. The book also contains a great reference of elemental tables and includes useful exercises for connecting with the elements. This books seems to be a wonderful overview of the elements and there place in our lives, and how they connect with us and the greater world/universe. I can definitely see using this as a guide in my journey on the Path and am grateful for the clear, concise, and fairly detailed explanations provide within, especially as I am still exploring Wicca.The language is clear, evocative as needed, and instructive without becoming overly pedantic. The notes regarding more modern science on similar topics at the beginning of the book was incredibly interesting and informative as well.

Explanations about the elements and how they do influence our life and well-being and how to work with them to help ourselves and others that make sense even for the beginners like me. The author covers each element in detail and offers some interesting suggestions on how to connect with the elements, work with the elements, and show reverence for them as well. Very nice read. Very nice information. I definitely recommend this book and author to anyone looking to learn and grow.

I'm sure there are more detailed reads, however I find Lisa's books to be the perfect "quick read" to get a generalized understanding; a nice start for the journey... hence, "Beginner's Guide". Perfect for me, as I am new to this chapter in my journey. :)

Cute story! I bought this as a "card" to go along with a monster bowling set I bought for my 2 year old nephew. Very pleased and the book is definitely brand new!

My kids and I love the Boynton books and we have many of them, but I decided to add this one to our collection when struggling to come up with a birthday gift for a one year old. This one was easily liked as much if not more than some of her others. It also has some humor to make it entertaining for the adult readers. The writing flows well and the rhyming doesn't sound forced. This is a gem if you're looking for a birthday book for your birthday monster!

This book checks off many of the things I look for when choosing books for my son. Board books are perfect for babies and toddlers. I bought this as a gift for his 1st birthday and 4 months later he still enjoys having this book read to him. I like the colorful and interesting illustrations. Lots to point out and discuss while reading. I love rhyming stories and so do kids. The story is silly, cute and interesting. A rollercoaster of emotions to experience. Fun ending. I definitely recommend this book. I can see myself buying it as a birthday gift for other kids as well.

I always buy this book for any little one of mine having a birthday and it is always a hit. Love the author and love all her books. Fun, funny, creative and imaginative. Always looking forward to another one.

Sandra Boynton writes another cute book that little ones can enjoy! It's funny and fun about birthdays. Fun to read and fun for kids, which is pretty much our experience with most of Sandra Boynton's work.

This was a birthday gift for a little girl and she and her mom both seemed to like it very much. Durable and fun to read, so I think it'll be a great addition to a toddler's early reading collection. She had her mom read it a couple of times while we were there, which bodes well for its future. She was easily able to hold and manipulate the pages herself, which is what she wants to do.

Great book! It's so cute and silly. I give it out in lieu of birthday cards for little kiddos, and I wish more local bookstores would stock it for that reason. Sadly, none really do, so instead I buy off of Amazon.

Such a cute story. I am a nanny and I love reading this with my munchkins - its a great book for all ages, though it's especially wonderful for little hands and little attention spans (: Sandra Boynton books are a favorite of mine to give to kids as gifts, or just because! In this case I gave this to one year old boy girl twins on their birthday. I think its great for young readers to identify the monsters' very silly and absurd behavior, and love the ending makes up for the comical day the birthday hippo endured.

This is one of our favorite books. My 2 year old LOVES it. The fun story is written so well and flows so naturally. The story cracks me up every time. My 11 year old always picks it up first to read to my son. This is now one of my "go-to" birthday presents for kiddos turning 1 or 2. I highly recommend it!
