I thought this would be more interesting, especially since similar books like "The Men Who Loved Trains" are fascinating. Unfortunately this one has been a real snoozefest and I keep running out of energy to keep reading it.

As a Reading Pa.native and a RailFan I personally loved this book. It is very detailed and sheds light on parts of that time in the Railroads history that are often overlooked. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in learning more about the end days of the Reading Company and what was going on in the offices and courts.

The author deserves a great deal of credit for travelling back in time to his personal involvement in the Reading Railroad wind down. That said, it is very dry reading. I found myself skipping over several pages at a time to make progress through the slim 160 page volume.

A fascinating inside perspective on one of the most high-profile cases against the US federal government.

I didn't like this book (or another in the series) because the author jumps around from one character to another several times early on in the book. Really hard to follow any plot while you're spending so much time getting to know the characters. Wouldn't recommend wasting your time with this book or series of books.

An easy five stars for me. I didn't even realize I liked this genre and I in this case I didn't - I LOVED it! Just wish there were more. This series takes you back in time but written with so much heart and action the reader has no problem living in the lifetime of the character. Will certainly be looking for more from this author.

This was a good series which apparently ended with this one. Abby Sure Shot reluctantly takes on a new partner and a new job running squatter off land. But when they get their they find the brothers who hired them are actually the squatters.

My favorite of the series. Well done. Great characters. Great action. I've found a new western author!

What a fantastic wrap-up to a great trilogy! I’m so glad I took a chance at this genre, as I have enjoyed it, immensely. Thank you, Mr. Hopf, for opening my eyes to new stories. You are quite the master storyteller!

I like the Bounty Hunter series bu t wondering if they are going to keep me interested after what happened to Abigail. Prairie Justice is a good story and the twist at the end came as a complete surprise.

I did hate to see this series end. Abby has turned a tad softer in this book. But she is still a hard a$$ with a heart of gold. Great read. I have enjoyed every book Mr. Hopf has written, but I do love the Western books.Fav quote:...one thing you told me a long time ago is that life shows up; it's up to us to accept it and move on. I do that every time you leave. I accept it and move on....

Beautiful and incredibly helpful book! Packed with information - wonderfully detailed sketches on generic botanical descriptions and terms, color photos of all plants, detailed botanical descriptions, infomation on leaves, flowers, fruit, habitat, range, nativity, etc. Costa Rica is one of the most biodiverse places in the planet so it is impossible to have every species but this book does a wonderful job representing the flora of CR. For example, it shows the most common species of Cecropia, then mentions that there are 4 other species and gives a quick description of their differences. As a horticulturist and arborist visiting CR, I found this book perfect for identifying and appreciating the flora of Costa Rica!

The book is organized in strange way, by flower color. I would have preferred it organized by families instead, for example all orchids listed in the same section together. Also it's not nearly comprehensive, many entries will state there are 5 species of this genus in Costa Rica and only give information about the most common one. And it's only of limited usefulness for identifying plants that aren't in bloom as many entries only have a picture of the flower but none of the leaves.

This book was small enough to carry in the field and was helpful. As other reviewers have noted, it is arranged by the color of prominent characteristics of the plants, and to a lesser degree plant types. If the flowers, fruits, etc. that were used as the prominent characteristic are not on the plant, identication would be difficult at best. The pictures are small and of limited detail, but given the size of the book and the number of plants covered, that is understandable.

Fantastic book !!!!! Great for finding the names of the many plants I encountered while I was in Costa Rica. It helped me to label the photographs that I took, and read all the information about each one, which I enjoyed very much.

All expectations were met.

After listening to the Audible version a few times, I wanted the Kindle version so I could go over some parts more carefully. I really love Blake Snyder's contribution to the writing craft. I use these techniques (primarily the 15 beats) for novel writing, rather than a screenplay. So this is helpful for books or scripts. I think you'll be happy you learned what Snyder teaches.

This has got to be one of the best books on screenwriting you can buy. Blake Snyder was one of the most successful pitch men in Hollywood and he lays a lot of knowledge down in his Save The Cat series. I liked the first one so much, I loaned it to my writing partner and then we ended up buying all 3! It goes into everything about script writing from structure, plot and dialogue to pitching and selling your script. Blake has since passed away but he still have devotees who answer questions from budding writers who have just discovered their mentor. I recommend this series to ANY screenwriter - novice or advanced!!

This book expands on and fills the gaps the first Save the Cat title. Both are of great value in helping a writer to get to grips with making their story work in all its elements, whether it's a screenplay or a novel.I've rushed through this one a bit, but highlighted the things I need to keep track of, and hopefully between books one and two I'll make better progress on the book I've been writing spasmodically over a year and have got stuck on more than once.This second book has material in the last chapters that relates primarily to screenwriters, though as always with Snyder there are some useful gems for other kinds of writers. But the last chapter in which discusses the disciplines of being a writer is very valuable.

this line of books are the best screenwriting books I've ever read. I was skeptical of the usefulness of this one and thought that it might be the author cashing in on the success of the previous books, but it is in fact quite useful. Covers details and fills in some of the blanks that were lacking in the first two books. for example the first book gives you an outline in which to structure and flesh out your screenplay idea but is very vague in its description of act three. this book goes into much greater detail helping you structure act three and gives examples of various ways to go about tackling it.Also gives suggestions as to rewrites and finding and fixing flaws with your characters and story. much more useful than I thought it would be. Such a shame this writer died so young.

Blake Snyder's Save The Cat! series really speaks to me. In this edition, he goes further into the revising stage of writing, where he helps writers understand feedback and use it to make their stories even stronger. As usual, I have a hard time seeing what's missing in my own work (no problem when I read someone else's though) and this book really helped me look at my story objectively and find ways to fix what wasn't working.I am deeply saddened that Blake Snyder is no longer with us, but these titles (and his screenplays) are an incredible legacy.

When I first started writing short stories my mentor told me about Save the Cat and I fell in love with this book. While it is geared towards screen play writing, the techniques and structure can work for any story. If you want to get a hold on your story, regardless of the format or medium, read Save the Cat!

Had heard about these books for years and finally nabbed one as part of my new year's resolution for becoming a better writer. Couldn't be more pleased with the encouragement, the plain spoken direction and the insights. I don't write screenplays, I write fiction but this book brings value to every writer. Definitely keeper shelf material.

You may not think this makes any sense but after reading Blake's books, you will know exactly what I'm getting at.I don't know who invented this but the old Hollywood/writing adage is true:No story is told. It is only retold.I've written up a 146 page screenplay for my movie, and after shooting 2 scenes of it, I've gotten some good feedback from it. This is despite all my technical problems with cinematography, people thought my few scenes were funny. Which is great because it's suppose to be a comedy, so I'm on the right track.Everyone thought something else was funny, the mark of a great movie when everyone with very different and unique personalities can look at the same thing and come away from it with very different interpretations, and still laugh.I have only God and Blake Snyder to thank for this. Read Blake's book, craft your story, and keep trying. Writing can be a lot of fun, but it's also tough. Good luck, and I look forward to see your stuff, out there!

Coloring book has fun ocean and beach pages to color. Includes sunbathing, scuba diving, surfing, toucans, flip flops, palm trees, coconuts and more tropical theme pages. I received this today and colored one page with Copic Sketch markers. These pages are also suitable for colored pencils and water-based markers. I really like they are all black on the back of each coloring page so the markers don't show up on the back. And as described, it brings two coloring pages of each image. It's nice to be able to use different colors or mediums on each of the two.

 The designs in this coloring book make me think of my various vacations to tropical islands, especially to different islands in Hawaii. In addition to scenes which have a vacation feel, there are designs of flora and fauna (including many fish) that bring up an island feel. The designs are very detailed with lots of additional lines so you can use a huge number of colors if you wish. Coloring in the book makes me yearn to plan another tropical vacation in the near future.While you can have access to .PDFs when you purchase this book, my review is based on the book as it is received from Amazon. That way you will know what the pages look like and how they accept color. I like that the publisher provides the digital version as well so you can choose the paper you wish to use and/or to color the pictures as many times as you choose.This is what I found while coloring in this book and testing the paper with my coloring medium:25 x 2 each island designs for a total of 50 coloring pagesDesigns are printed on one side of the pagePaper is typical of CreateSpace: white, thin, slightly rough and non-perforated. The back of the page is printed black.The designs do not merge into the binding. There is a heavy framing line at the outer edges of the design to give the project a more finished look, especially for framing.Glue Binding (there is room to cut the pages out if you choose to do so.)Though you cannot see the bleed-through easily due to the back of the page being printed in black, I recommend the use of a blotter page when working in this book. I use a page of card stock or several sheets of heavyweight paper under my working page. It keeps seeping ink and marring dents from ruining the pages below.Alcohol-based markers bleed through the page quickly.Water-based markers bleed through in spots.Gel pens and India ink pens leave shadows on back of the page. India ink can bleed through if you apply heavily or multiple coats.Coloring Pencils work well with this paper. I found that I could layers the same color for deeper pigment or multiple colors and I could blend easily using a blending stick. I tested both oil and wax based pencils. I also found that hard lead pencils leave dents through the paper.

This book is a hit and a miss for me. I look it then I don't. I like the beach scenes and the vacation island feel. There are to many lines through out the pictures that throws me off. But most of Jades books are very detailed, I have to remember that just because it's detailed doesn't mean it can't be kept simple. I love this line of books because they give you a lot of bang for your buck. Two of each picture of one sided and black backing

Full of fun beach inspired illustrations, it will be fun to color. However there are duplicate pages of the entire book, instead of a book full of unique images. The book could've been half the size in content. That's a disappointment. One plus is a free PDF version available online so one can print pages to color multiple times. In offering that, it kind of eliminates duplicating all the pages printed.

Island Paradise reminds me that I need to take a vacation. Every page reminds me that the beaches are calling me. They are so fun to color. Each page has lots of details and I would recommend this book for anyone who wants to spend a few days on a single page.

A great coloring book to have all year long. So many varieties to bring smile. It's single sided so it's great for marker user like me, by putting extra few papers behind the page.
