Great guide for the CLEP. The practice tests were harder than the real one. Everything was well explained in a logical order. I was getting 65-70% correct on the practice tests and got a CLEP score of 75 (out of the scaled 80)

I did several methods of preparing for my CLEP exam and I passed. This book was pretty good being that it had tons of information in it. However, it also had a lot of unnecessary information that was not even on the exam. I overstudied with this book in particular and I spent way too much time on some of this information that was not necessary.

I passed with a 56 using only this book as a study source. I spent 3 and half weeks reading all the chapters and taking the practice tests. One thing is there was information on the test I didn't see in the book. But if you study what is in the book you will do fine!

This book covered a lot of the test. I studied this book, and Modern States web site (free) for a week and knocked the CLEP out. I made flash cards, also used flash cards on Quizlet. But the book really helped. A LOT of the people listed in the book were on my test.

This book was GREAT and the testing system helped me to prepare well for the exam. I scored a 66 with this book as my main source. It explains well the material that will be covered on the test. It is actually my favorite CLEP book and subject. These are important basic concepts you need to know to understand business well.I still didn't know about 20 questions on the test, but the material covered in this book was enough for me to do well enough on the test.

This book was worth it. I read through it over a two week period - while working full time and going to college full time and I still passed the CLEP on my 1st try.

This was my first clep so I was a bit nervous since CLEP seems to have a wide variety of study material out there. This is the test! Got a score of 63 scaled which was what I was scoring on the practices tests in this book (around 72% mean score). Test ended up easier than the practice as there were some gimmies and not a single stumper thrown in. Would have scored higher if I forced my self to memorize all of those historical concepts/individuals but you just need to pass. Anyways.... You get the idea. Buy this one!

Don't waste your time buying this garbage, the CLEP gave totally different questions than what the book had. In addition, to the different questions on the test, there was also material that wasn't not covered in the book. Totally disappointed with this book. A refund wouldn't be good enough at this point.

Yes, no more counting calories! I love this book and the tips inside it. It helped me understand foods more and how they impact our fat loss and overall health. I totally hate counting calories, it makes me feel deprived of all the foods I want to eat. I just can't help it. But a ketogenic diet switch is really worth it. What it takes is portion control and proper training. I'm also crazy about the Keto diet shopping list in this book for the 3 week action plan. A must-have! I'm an amateur filmmaker, so I'm very interested in potentially using drones for filmmaking. That seems to be a major trend. What filmmaker doesn't want a beautiful aerial establishing shot to start off an important scene?Happily, this book is actually mostly devoted to that very topic. First there is the ubiquitous (and mostly useless) chapter on the history of drones and all that. BORING. Then it gets down to "business". It talks about different types of drones, different approaches to camera support (integrated or add-on) and then talks about the various camera options, and criteria for selecting the type of drone/camera setup to meet your needs. Plus lots more about drone photography strategies and logistics and such.It has a good chapters on drone safety, legal matters, and another on generic drone maintenance, and a couple chapters on the actual act of flying the drone, with lots of types, general information, and do's and don'ts. And then at the VERY end of the book it devotes a few pages to other drone uses.Overall, if you are interested in learning more about the possibility of getting a drone for photography (either still or moving images) then this is a great starting place. There is lots of and lots of great info here and it starts from the very beginning, not assuming you have any drone experience or knowledge going in. Most of the info is fairly generic, there isn't much analysis of different brands and models for example.I'm definitely glad that I got this book, but if your interest in drones is for something other than photography, then you might want to select a different book. 90% of the content is about photography.

I read quite a few "For dummies" books and unfortunately this has been one of the most disappointing ones.I expected that after reading the book I would have a basic understanding on how a drone works, an insight on its components, dynamics and the general knowledge on how to operate a drone at a basic level or maybe even how to proceed in case I would like to build my own.Unfortunately I found none of the above.What was most irritating is how little there is actually on drones. Most of the book is about how to shop or behave on the internet, basic and watered down introductions on related consumer electronics (cameras, editing software etc..) and somewhat product specific reviews that (naturally) are already outdated. All this might be useful advice to anyone who is a dummy about most of contemporary consumer electronics, yet it should not become the main point of a volume that is supposed to speak about drones.Each section starts with way too long introductions, which seam to have the only function to add text.Once all such "bloatware" we are left with about 30% of drone specific text, which is mainly an edited extract from various user manuals, as the book only speaks about ready-to-fly platforms, basically becoming a purchasing guide for products that are already outdated.The same obsolescence issue affects the legal section: it should be updated ASAP, as with recent regulation changes readers might get into trouble.The book often tells you about what you should pay attention to, without actually telling you how you are supposed to do it.Is it all bad? Off course it isn't! Among all the bloatware, incorrect phrases ("such as high rate of speed" to indicate speed) and repetitions there is plenty of good advice for starters, especially in the safety section. Nevertheless when purchasing a book I expect to receive more structured information than what I can receive by a 10 min. google search. Personally I found more and better structured information on http://myfirstdrone.com/ than in this volume.

Probably the worst cobbled together anything for dummies. It's certainly not current. It reads like somebody grabbed a bunch of different subjects and threw them together randomly. Multiple sections with repeat text/pictures, no real cohesive thought and the picture quality is absurdly awful! Even my drone instructor admits that the book is dreadful! I cannot believe that some of the folks who rated this book as 4 or 5 were even look at the same volume. Deserves less than a 1.

This book is totally obsolete, There are no useful sections. If you have a newer DJI drone this book will not help you in any way.

This is a book lacking in substance. I read it through and felt I learned almost nothing about drones or anything else.

This book predates the new FAA 14 CFR Part 107 regulations.It provides good background and useful tips for buying and operating a drone. But the drone models that is discusses are somewhat dated and much of the discussion about regulations are no longer current.; but it does highlight some ideas for best practice.

This book is seriously out of date and should be revised to reflect the current FAA rules and more recent drone models.

This book was a gift for me when I was pregnant with my first child who is now eight years old. I've used many of the remedies in the past and continue to use them now. I prefer herbal remedies to the over the counter medicinal treatments, so I was delighted when I received this book. I now have other family members with infants and toddlers who call me for remedies. I refuse to part with my book, but wish to buy the book as a gift for others. This book is easy to follow.

It serves the need of a newspaper to keep writing concise and that makes some of the rules seem self-serving, but it is an invaluable aid to promote clarity and precision of language. This Style book, along with "The Chicago Manual of Style", are essential reference material for any writer and are my favorite gifts for graduates from both high school and college.

To put it simply, you probably already know whether or not you work in a field where this might come in handy. I'm an editor at a university, and while this book was not an essential part of my editor's toolkit, it comes in handy for settling textual formatting disputes, and insuring consistency.The book itself is well designed, it has a sensible layout and offers a pretty substantial amount of information in a manner that is intuitive and easy to understand.Generally speaking, if you have a question, the book has anticipated it, and has an answer for you. I've used AP Style Manuals since the early 1990s. This edition upholds AP's usual high standards. Last time I got one with a perfect binding and learned my lesson. If you are going to be using the manual for regular reference, you need the spiral binding. The perfect binding won't lie flat even if you crack the spine.

Very good book, although a bit thin for a paperback. It has interesting recipes of which I am not familiar with some of the foods or ingredients used (in England)in some of the recipes. Each page is glossy and has beautiful colored pictures of the dishes. It also has some ideas of what to make with the leftovers. I will just have to look up the corresponding American standard measurements for Metric, of which I am not familiar with. That is the only drawback and why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. It really should list both American and Metric measurements.

These are useless recipes!

There are very few recipes. Some of the ingredients I have never heard of also the measurements are in grams because book is from UK. Additionally, I believe some of the ingredients listed are high oxalate as noted on other websites.

Very helpful.

I was very interested in this book as my husband has suffered from recurrent kidney stones. Felt a bit reluctant due to one unfavourable review but 15 recipes for less than £1 seemed a bargain to me...and in fact there are more recipes as almost all include suggestions for variations and using up leftovers of the main dish/ingredient and there is also general information and a positive tone to this book. The fish recipes are particularly yummy and I like her use of different flavours. Am going to look at other cook guides by this author!

I own several of Kerry Lord's crochet books and have been enjoying her last one which is based on monsters. This time, she brings a pick and choose style book based on dolls. There are flip pages which show heads and bodies and you choose which one goes with which.Note that, once again, the instructions are provided in UK terms. Essentially, for the purposes of this book, UK dc (double crochet) is equal to US sc (single crochet.) To get full equivalents for UK/US terms, you can easily find them on the internet.The photo instructions in the book are done extremely well. Between “seeing” how to do something with the photo and reading the instructions, it is easy to follow along. Another great thing about this book is that it is spiral bound so turning both full pages and partial pages is done with the touch of a finger. As you are choosing what goes with what, it makes it much easier to put a project together than would have been if a traditional binding had been used.The first part of the book is made up of two segments – head and body. You flip to the pages you want based on the photo and on the back of the page are the instructions.There are three suggested sizes of yarn for the dolls DK, Aran (worsted) and Bulky. I think you can use any size yarn but need to be consistent throughout the project to keep the component sizes in synch.The book also goes into some detail about skin tones, hair and various wardrobe accessories that you can make using the patterns in the book. I appreciate that both female and male doll components were included as I crochet for both my grandson and granddaughter. They have enjoyed the monsters I have been making from Ms. Lord's last book and will now have some dolls to play with as well. I simply can't imagine where Ms. Lord's imagination will take us next, but I will certainly be looking for any new crochet books she releases.

This book is very well set up I love the patterns. Had to double take a project though when it was coming out too big as a reminder this book is written in UK crochet terms which are different from US by a smidge. Easy fix though and it came out much better the second time.

I was really looking forward to making some of these, however I came across several mistakes. Some of the patterns in the costume section were seriously out of order in an obvious way. It makes them difficult to follow. I'm going to return the item.

Despite multiple attempts with the standard body- I can only conclude that the written pattern has some mistakes. Cute book and I like the format however am disappointed in the mistakes.

I like the way it is an adult board book with 3 partitions on each page to select hair body. and clothing.I can be creative--and correct, with my doll making. This will be a faorite, oft referred to instruction book.

I am much more comfortable knitting, but for certain things, liked stuffed animals and dolls, crochet is better. This book gave me little tips for crocheting which have helped me with all other patterns as well as these. Love the creativity in these patterns.

I am a forever fan of Kerry Lord's crochet books. I have tried other artists, but I feel her patterns are the best. Friends and family always want me to crochet something from her patterns, and I know the creations from this book will be just as popular.
