These cards are useful! If you play a warlock, be warned, however, that some of the spells you choose may not be included. I was missing two cantrips (found in Cleric spellbook cards, and Xanathar’s spellbook cards) and as I level my Warlock, there will be more. There are builds that pull from other classes and builds that stay within the standard warlock spells. Just depends on the direction you take. If you’re like me, you might end up having to purchase additional decks to complete your Spellbook. Other than that, the cards are useful and of decent quality. They say “laminated” but it seems they just have a slightly thicker coating on them than a basic MTG or playing card. You can still bend or damage them if you aren’t careful. I’d recommend getting a little Spellbook with sleeves (Guile Design makes a good one) or using a card protector sheet with sleeves for the cards in use. They are definitely nice to have on hand to quickly reference your spells.

Great cards, super easy access, makes running and playing so much more fun having them instantly on hand for verification.

The cards make it MUCH easier to manage your spells without having to constantly flip through a book or put long descriptions on your character sheets. The box they come in rather flimsy though, so I do suggest a card box to store them in.

These make the game so much easier. Tracking spells in the book is tedious and can slow down gameplay.

They are great I just wish they had a few more types of cards. For example they do not have any cards for Eldritch Invocations.

These were so useful, I bought a second set. Now my daughter (who always plays a wizard) has her cards, and my NPCs have their own. Saves a lot of time- no more flipping through 40 pages looking for info, when all the spells you prepare fit in your hand.

I just received my spell cards and found, when searching for the spells used by my arcane trickster, that my set at least was missing both disguise self and chromatic orb. I haven't looked through all of them, but another review says the set does not include all of the warlock cards, so I'm extremely disappointed

at least one card (witch bolt) was missing

Sadie is going through a particularly dark time and decides to surprise her daughter Lauren with a visit. Lauren is quite shocked to see her Mom as Sadie never does anything spontaneous. Lauren decides to continue on with her plans for a short hike in Yosemite and begs for Sadie to join her.Their hike begins normally but before too long a storm comes up and in their haste to escape it and find some type of cover, they get horribly lost. Lauren has survival skills but she’s injured. Sadie has no survival skills but she has something even more important going for her - the fierceness of a Mother protecting her young. This beautiful story is strikingly authentic, overflowing with love, and very uplifting! I loved it!! The timing of my reading of “Dancing with the Sun” coincided very closely to the timing of my daughter moving out of our home and into her own place, so that made it all the more poignant to me. Even without that coincidence, though, I know the story still would have resonated with me on many levels – as a mother, a wife and a woman – because it portrays many aspects of motherhood (not only the empty nest aspect) and of a long-standing marriage. Kay Bratt incorporates so much into this book, including loss of a child, adoption, survival, uncertainty, sacrifice, self-judgement, overcoming, forgiveness, and reconnecting. The significance of the title itself is amazing and was something that will stay with me for life! (I strive to and hope to always dance with the sun!) Also, the settings within the book are breath-taking. So much so that I think it would make a great movie, and am sure, if it was one, there would not be a dry eye in the theater! This probably goes without saying considering all that I’ve written in my review, but I’ll say it anyway: I highly recommend reading this book!!

"Angels Don't Play this HAARP: Advances in Tesla Technology" is so good it's scary. Or maybe it's a scary subject done well. Either way, it is an extremely well researched and investigated exposé. The HAARP project in Alaska is like a giant Swiss Army knife of death and destruction.We should realize that the first edition of this book came out in 1995. That was before HAARP (in its current form) was even completed. Begich and Manning were all over this very early on. Dr. Begich has a very deep and well respected knowledge of these types of technologies.Begich and Manning lay it all on the table. They write about HAARP's origins and history. They write about the HAARP facility's ability to: generate earthquakes, modify the weather, control people's minds, map the Earth's interior, generate ultra-powerful laser like power beams, transmit wireless power, and more. Sure, these technologies can be used benevolently, but when they are in the hands of our military, the emphasis is on killing people and breaking stuff. We're concerned that these technologies are being used against the American people."Angels Don't Play this HAARP" is a great example of good old American muckraking journalism from a very capable duo.

If my understanding is correct, this book or at least the information contained, has been available for the last 20 years.Yet, I have never heard it mentioned.It is high time that the American people read this information and contact their congressional representatives to find out if any adult iin the room is in charge of these Air a force and Navy cowboys who are shooting Radio beams into the ionosphere. No wonder there is climate change for which we citizens are being blamed.I would bet that 98% of the U.S. Congress doesn't have a clue!

About the Author

Kevin Schindler is a native of Ohio but has lived in Flagstaff for more than twenty years, working for most of that time at Lowell Observatory. He graduated from Marietta College in 1987, majoring in geology and with a strong focus on paleontology. He currently serves as Lowell Observatory's historian after two decades of leading the observatory's education and outreach efforts. Schindler is an active member of the Flagstaff history and science communities. This is his fifth book.Dr. Will Grundy is a planetary scientist who studies icy planets, Kuiper belt objects and giant planet satellites. He is an editor for Icarus, the leading international scientific journal for Solar System studies, and heads the Surface Composition science theme team for NASA's New Horizons mission to Pluto and the Kuiper belt. Dr. Grundy mostly grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. His undergraduate degree was in physics from Yale University, and his PhD in planetary sciences came from the University of Arizona.

I received a copy of this book from a friend at Lowell Observatory and - it is a gem. The description of the arduous road to the discovery of this planet and, later, its satellite Charon, and its recent unveiling by the New Horizons spacecraft, was an eye-opener; it is a combination of grinding labor, dead-ends, good fortune and, above all, imagination and the courage to persevere in the face of naysayers. The writing is fluid and propelling. An excellent set of photographs accompanies the text. Also recommended is William Lowell Putnam's more general history of Lowell, The Explorers of Mars Hill.

This is a tiny book written for high school children. It is an excellent overview of the basics of Stalin's life but it was not what I was expecting. I was hoping for more details and I should have noticed that it only had a few pages. I will donate it to our local library that does not contain any books on Stalin, so that anyone who wants to see how horrible some human beings can be, will get at least the basics of one such human. The only way to learn from our mistakes is to at least be aware of them. Tyrants cannot be allowed to commit such acts.

Joseph Stalin was in my view a butcher and a cold and unfeeling human being. This man like Hitler, could destroy millions, and not miss a moment of sleep. I was very interested in his early life, many books on ths man do not provide much on this area of his life. It seems quite understandable why most people who had to deal with him, were so frightend of him. I would recommend this book to others. I just wish it had been a bit longer. JRV

These are great little reads. Fun. Quick. Kind of a Wikipedia page with cute pictures. Can't complain. Just don't expect cutting edge scholarship.

This book is only 128 pages. The book is only 7 x 5 1/4 inches and the font size is large. Subtract the photos, the maps, glossary, etc. and there isn't that much substance, its more like a pamphlet. While it might be okay for high school students, it's not for serious history buffs. I didn't learn anything new; I've learned more from biographies of FDR, Churchill, etc.

The first thing you need to know is that this book is one of a series called "A Wicked History," so what you get here is the true story of one of history's villains, not a softened whitewash. The second thing you need to know is that the book is published by Scholastic, so take that to mean this is intended for a younger audience - I assume high school age or thereabouts. It is a GREAT overview of who and what Stalin was, and for anyone who wants to inform the younger generation of the dark side of Communism, here is a perfect tool.I am so impressed with this little book on so many levels. It is well researched and written, captivating to read, superbly illustrated inside and out, and is laid out perfectly all the way down to the font choice. Be warned - it contains some photographs depicting death, starvation, and violence. These may be too disturbing for middle-schoolers, but high-schoolers should be able to handle it. The cover illustration is a fantastic woodcut by Mark Summers, the beauty of which is not done justice by the thumbnail image you see here on Amazon.For adult readers, I would recommend this as a quick way to get familiar with the topic of Stalin, especially if you don't have the time or desire to read through the much longer books. Even at only 128 pages, I learned many things I hadn't known before. I knew that many millions of people had died under Stalin, but now I know under what specific circumstances. The author notes that historically, people still favor Stalin over Hitler, probably because Stalin was never forced to account for his crimes. Books like this give me hope that the truth will get more exposure.I look forward to reading more books from the Wicked History series. I wish I could say we found this in a bookstore, but we found it in a gift shop of all places. Why isn't this book in every bookstore? It should be.

Having read other Stalin history I can say I'm very impressed with this small text. I bought it for my grandchildren but enjoyed reading it myself. It is a terrific launching pad for conversations about the evils of socialism. The author has done an excellent job with not only this book but the other two in the series. My advice is buy the set--- Stalin, Hitler, and Mao. All of them are remarkable.

McHugh (formerly an editor at Woman's World and Cosmopolitan, and a frequent New York Times contributor) grew up with a mentally disabled brother for whom she became responsible as an adult after their mother died. McHugh doesn't shrink from the tough issues, even when looking at her own actions. Mostly, she reports, she blocked her brother and his problems out of her life as much as possible. So on one level, this is about McHugh's own journeyone viewed wrenchingly from another angle when one of her own children becomes blind and has a leg amputated as a result of complications from diabetes. First of all, I really wish that people who have not grown up with a disabled sibling would not write negative reviews of this book because they just don't know what it is like. My sister had polio and her illness and subsequent operations took all of my families' resources both financial and emotional. I grew up thinking that I was unimportant and that maybe if I was sick too, I would get attention. My earliest thoughts were those of wishing that I would just die so I didn't have to feel so bad/guilty all the time. Kids that grow up with disabled siblings often feel that they did something wrong to cause the disability. My middle sister and I both felt that way, yet we weren't even born when it happened.Ms. McHugh has written an incredibly honest book that will be greatly appreciated by anyone else in this situation. We live in a world of silence and isolation, how can you ever complain when you can walk, talk, hear, etc. You would be considered extremely selfish. The life of a sibling of a disabled person is very distorted.Thank you, Ms. McHugh for your courage.

I bought this book because I have a child with a disability, and I wanted to do what I can to be helpful to my three other children. It was a wonderful read! It reassured me, which is something all mothers need a lot of. It also reminded me that vigilance about sibling excesses is in order. After reading it, I reminded my children that they don't have to grow up to be superstars in some kind of effort to compensate for what my one child lacks.I enjoyed the author's willingness to be so honest about her feelings, yet even when revealing negative feelings, she asserted a positive spin by contrasting her feelings with more positive feelings of others. It's clear that much of her difficulty had to do with being raised in a different time -- when there was little help, and when disability was considered shameful and secret. My favorite section of this book is the discussion of the common phenomenon of siblings entering the helping professions as adults. She has a fresh and interesting take on this topic.

McHugh's book puts a new perspective out there for siblings of the disabled to come to grips with many of the endemic problems that this population of people (myself being one of them) deals with. Great for adults in understanding where they are coming from and really great for kids in understanding why they feel differently about siblings than their friends might. While there are other books out there, this one puts a bit of a "feel-good spin" on having siblings with disabilities, particularly in the last chapter. Sometimes you need to wallow in the frustration for a while and understand the negative consequences and their impact before you can see the positives, which is the only reason that this book gets four of five stars - aside from that, this is an excellent, helpful book that does a fantastic job of explaining the dilemma of having a sibling with a disability.

This is the first time, I have read a book, that I related to. I always felt so alone in my experiences as a child, and it is actually a surprise, that others have felt the way I felt. A relief too - that others have had similar experiences. I am a sibling of a disabled sister. This book is a must read if you are a sibling of a disabled sibling or a parent.

There is a great need for enlightened books on the topic of growing up with a sibling with a disability. Unfortunately, this book does not answer that need.Ms. McHugh feels the common denominator between her and the other siblings who lament their sibling is the issue of disability. In fact, the common demoninator is self-pity. Most of us in this world have issues with their childhood, whether they be a sibling with a handicap, an abusive parent, a dead beat dad, or an overachieving brother. We all carry many scars. It is not the challenges that we face, but what we make of those challenges.Having a loved one with a disability does not change our essential truth. Yes, it may be difficult at times, but life is, difficult that is. The challenge of facing a disability on a daily basis only makes you more of what you already are. Sometimes that's good, in this case it's very sad.Ms. McHugh may be the sibling of a man with a disability. But she is the one truly handicapped. Handicapped by her inability to stop using the disability as a crutch. The disability nor your brother are the source of your pain, anger and suffering. It is the inability to deal with it in a productive manner.The next book I'd like to read from Ms. McHugh would be about people with disabilities and how they tolerate the whiny, self-important, shallow ramblings of their very confused siblings.
