For many reasons the number of grandparents raising their grandchildren has grown exponentially! This book by Andrew Adesman MD and Christine Adamec is a tremendous resource for this segment of the population. The four parts, "Ready or Not, You're Raising Your Grandchildren" "Adjusting to the New Normal" "Legal and Financial Resources" and "Healthy in Body and Mind" give expert assistance but also information regarding helpful agencies nationwide. Intersperced throught the book are actual stories of children and grandparents providing emotional comfort and practical guidance to the reader. The book while written for grandparents would benefit those persons working in schools, social welfare agencies and counseling services. I recently retired as a psychological services specialist with Los Angeles Unified Schools. Would that we could have had this book as a resource. Marianne Weil,Ph.D
